Firefox browser security update

4:36 p.m., Sept. 28, 2005--A new version of the Firefox web browser has been released, and IT-User Services advises Firefox users to update their copies of the application to fix some security issues.

Firefox does not alert users when updates are available. However, simple instructions for updating the application are available from the IT Help Center for both Windows XP and Macintosh computers.

Windows XP computer users should go to [www.udel.edu/topics/browsers/firefox/#update].

Macintosh computer users can download the latest version of Firefox from UDeploy, the University's software distribution page at [http://udeploy.udel.edu/Mac/Docs/index.html].

Firefox users should routinely update the application to ensure that they have all new current security patches, updates and versions.
