Wellness Center offers cholesterol screening

10:40 a.m., Jan. 30, 2004--UD’s Employee Wellness Center will conduct a cholesterol screening from 10 a.m.1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17, in 310 Gore Hall.

The test, which requires a simple finger stick, takes about 10 minutes, does not require fasting and will provide total cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol) levels and risk ratio within five minutes.

Heart disease affects millions of Americans, with high cholesterol putting individuals at risk for a heart attack or stroke. Minor lifestyle changes such as following a low-fat diet and being physically active can help keep cholesterol levels within a healthy range.

The cost is 10 Wellness dollars plus a $5 co-payment. Call 831-8388 to schedule a 15-minute appointment.
