Associate in Elementary and Middle School Teacher Education

Make a Difference in the Classroom

With small class sizes, supportive faculty and community outreach opportunities, the Associate in Elementary and Middle School Teacher Education allows students to build a foundation in K-8 education and complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree on UD’s Georgetown or Wilmington campus.

In this program, students learn with a small cohort of fellow classmates, apply their knowledge of teaching in Delaware schools and community centers, develop a close relationship with a faculty advisor, collaborate with other students, teachers and community partners and build their confidence as a future educator.

Delaware residents can apply for financial support through Delaware’s SEED Scholarship program, which provides full-time associate’s degree students free tuition during their two years on the Georgetown and Wilmington campuses.

CEHD’s Center for Excellence and Equity in Teacher Preparation assists students with field experience clearances, including the tuberculin (TB) test, criminal background check, and Stewards of Children Training.
