Linda Brinton Harra Scholarship
Linda Brinton Harra is a University Of Delaware graduate, Class of 1971, BSN. The Harra’s established the “Linda Brinton Harra Endowment Scholarship Fund” in 1997 for adult students interested in either graduate or undergraduate nursing programs, especially as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist. Linda believed that inasmuch as she benefited greatly from her educational experiences and association with University Of Delaware by establishing the Fund that others, too, might so benefit. For many years, Linda worked in the field of nursing including: several critical care areas (Coronary Care, Newborn Intensive Care, Labor and Delivery); as a certified childbirth instructor; patient educator and as a staff nurse for a private physician.
Her community volunteer services reach out to health agencies, service organizations, the arts, and the symphony and to having a leadership role in the activities of the Republican Party in the State of Delaware and on a national level. She is a founding member of the Visiting Committee of the College of Health Sciences, and continues to be an active alumna of the University Of Delaware. Currently, Linda is Chair of the Board of Trustees of Goldey Beacom College (2007). Recognized for her leadership talent, she has received many awards and honors including: The 2007 University Of Delaware Medal of Distinction; The University Of Delaware 2002 Distinguished Alumna Award; the 2001 Ministry of Caring Recognition Award and the 2000 Alexis deTocqueville Society Award.
