Frequently Asked Questions for Alumni Weekend 2024

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Top Questions

A: The safety of the UD Community is our primary concern and we take this responsibility seriously.

Most events either take place indoors or have rain locations. Registrants will be notified of new event locations by email. Please inform your guests. The calendar of events is your best resource for up-to-date location information of individual events.

A: We've decided to take a different approach this year to create a more budget-friendly experience for our alumni.

We're excited to bring you a concert with an “underground” feel in Trabant Student Center that is reminiscent of your college years. With live music by Kristen & The Noise (one of our Blue Hens’ favorite bands), plus food, games, a koozie giveaway and more, you’ll still get tons of perks during this event while having fun with your UD classmates, teammates, roommates, best friends and partners.

At the event, we will also have a large drink selection on hand for purchase. This new direction of Alumni Weekend also allows us to be better stewards of our University’s resources. Bonus: No one has to worry about the weather!

A: Instead of tying the Alumni Weekend T-shirt and mug into registration for just one event during Alumni Weekend, we wanted to open it up to anyone who wanted these items while also keeping registration costs low. Therefore, this year, you may make a donation of $30 to the UD General Scholarship Fund at UD and a T-shirt and mug will be mailed to you! Feel free to sport your T-shirt at Alumni Weekend but please don’t bring your mug to events this year; it will not be filled by catering staff.

Another perk is that UD koozies will be included in your Rock the Roost concert and Beer Garden registrations this year!

A: Yes! Your attendance at reunions, the Rock the Roost concert, Drag Show and Beer Garden makes an extra impact at UD:

  • $5 of your reunion, concert and Beer Garden ticket will be donated to the Blue Hen Strong Fund, which directly supports the ever-evolving needs of UD students.

  • $5 of your Drag Show ticket will be considered a gift to the Center for Intercultural Engagement.

A: Registration for all alumni will open on March 26, 2024.

A: Follow @UDelAlumni on Instagram and @UDAlumni on Facebook for updates, reminders, photos and more. And don’t forget to use #BlueHensForever on your social media posts!

A: Yes! Early Hen pricing is available through April 15 and can save you up to $15 off paid registration for reunion packages, and $5 off paid Alumni Weekend registration for the Brunch in the Dining Hall, Drag Show, Beer Garden and Rock the Roost concert.

A: This wonderful weekend is designed to bring alumni back to campus and celebrate all that makes the UD experience so special. In order to make it affordable for all our alumni to participate, we keep pricing as low as possible by subsidizing the cost of the weekend’s events. In most cases, the University supports more than half the cost of each event. So, no, the University does not make a profit on the weekend.

A: You will be able to make changes to your registration online. When you receive your initial confirmation, it will include a link at the bottom for accessing your account. You will be able to add or delete events and housing (as long as they are still available) as well as add special requests. For additional assistance, please email us at aw-registration@udel.edu or call 302-831-2341.

A: What's a party without the guest list? Check out the Who's Coming page to see the names of fellow Blue Hens who will be joining you at Alumni Weekend. The headers are sortable, so click and sort as you see fit!

If you’re looking for THE best family event during Alumni Weekend, the Dining Hall Brunch (with the Mascots) is right up your alley! Alongside YoUDee and Baby Blue, who love to take pictures with future Blue Hens, you can enjoy your favorite foods and activities for all ages. Brunch with the Mascots takes place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 at Caesar Rodney Dining Hall.
