International cuisine featured Nov. 12-16

3:31 p.m., Nov. 8, 2007--In conjunction with International Education Week at UD, which takes place from Nov. 12-16, residence hall dining facilities, the Blue & Gold Club, The Scrounge in the Perkins Student Center, the Food Court in the Trabant University Center and other dining facilities across campus are serving up special internationally themed meals and ethnic dishes for lunch and dinner. Following are some highlights of the week.

On Monday, Nov. 12, during lunch, the Blue & Gold Club will feature a Classic Asian lunch buffet, the Food Court will feature food from Italy and The Scrounge will feature food from Greece.

During dinner, Kent Dining Hall will highlight Classic Asian cuisine, with
teriyaki glazed chicken from Japan, Adobo Pork from the Philippines and Mongolian grill with marinated tofu.

On Tuesday, Nov. 13, during lunch, Rodney Dining Hall will highlight “street foods of Greece” including hummus with pita and gyro sandwiches, and the Blue & Gold Club will feature a “Taste of the Mediterranean” lunch buffet. The Food Court and the The Scrounge will both feature foods from France on their menus.

During dinner, Pencader Dining Hall will focus on Pan-African foods, such as beef curry soup, African baked yams and spicy braised chicken.

On Wednesday, Nov. 14, during lunch, Kent Dining Hall and the Blue & Gold Club will feature a “Bavarian Fest,” with foods like bratwurst, knockwurst and funnel cake with powdered sugar. The Food Court will feature Hispanic food, while The Scrounge will feature Spanish food.

For dinner, Russell Dining Hall will serve an “Australian Bobby Dazzler,” with veggies on the barbie, outback onion straws with pedal sauce, Melbourne beef and New Zealand fish with sweet chili glaze.

On Thursday, Nov. 15, during lunch, Pencader Dining Hall will feature the “Exotic Taste of India” including tomato-lentil soup, tandoori chicken and sweet curried vegetables. The Blue & Gold Club will have a lunch buffet featuring the “sizzling flavors of Latin America,” the Food Court will feature food from India and The Scrounge will have Italian food.

For dinner, Rodney Dining Hall will feature Latin-American foods such as baked plantain, Argentinean potato salad and winter squash soup.

On Friday, Nov. 16, will close out the week with a lunchtime “Swiss Melting Pot” menu in Russell Dining Hall featuring classic Swiss cheese fondue, three-cheese fondue, crusty baguette and sliced apples. The Blue & Gold Club will have a “Tour of Italy” lunch buffet, while the Food Court will focus on “American Soul Food” and The Scrounge features food from Morocco.
