UD Symphony Orchestra concerts set March 14, 16

4:10 p.m., March 12, 2008--The UD Symphony Orchestra will perform at 8 p.m., Friday, March 14, in the Puglisi Orchestra Hall of the Louise and David Roselle Center for the Arts. The performance, presented by UD's Department of Music, will be repeated at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 16, in the Puglisi Orchestra Hall.

For this performance, the orchestra will welcome Kyle W. Pickett as its first guest conductor. Pickett, a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, is the creator and conductor of the North State Symphony in California. The concert's first half will feature Beethoven's Coriolan Overture and Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings. The second half will be comprised of Sibelius' Second Symphony.

Admission is $12 for adults; $8 for seniors, UD staff and alumni; and $3 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices.
