1:35 p.m., March 4, 2008--UD's College of Health Sciences is sponsoring a research lecture series this spring that will feature guest speakers from Temple University, UD and the University of Pennsylvania.

All of the lectures are free and open to the University community, and will take place Tuesdays from 2-3 p.m. in 114 McDowell Hall.

The following is the schedule:

• On March 11, Nancy Rothman, Independence Foundation professor of urban community nursing and director of community-based practices at Temple University, will lecture on “Taking Direction for Research From a Community Advisory Board";
• On April 22, Todd Royer, associate professor in the department of health, nutrition and exercise sciences at UD, will lecture on “Secondary Disability of Lower Extremity Amputation: Biomechanical Considerations;” and
• On May 13, Sean Clarke, associate professor of nursing and associate director of Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania, will lecture on “Making Hospitals Safer: Linking Nurse Staffing and Environments for Care with Patient and Nurse Outcomes.”
