Service

Barbara Sheer, associate professor of nursing, was elected to the core steering group of the International Council of Nurses-Nurse Practitioner/Advance Practice Nursing Network (ICN-NP/APN) representing the U.S. She also was named a magnet recognition program appraiser for the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a mentor for the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners for health policy and an abstract reviewer for the ICN-NP/APN conference to be held in Toronto in 2008.

Awards

John Krill, adjunct associate professor of art conservation, received the Sheldon and Caroline Keck Award at the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works 35th annual meeting in April. The award recognizes a sustained record of excellence in the education and training of conservation professionals.

Ingrid Pretzer-Aboff, instructor in nursing, received the Geriatrics and Gerontology Education and Research Award from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, for her exceptional contributions as a student in the field of aging.
