Noontime talk on teaching tech set April 4 4:25 p.m., March 27, 2007--“Low-Threshold Applications and Other Handy Resources for Teaching,” will be the featured topic at the next Let Us PRESENT educational technology series session, from 12:20 p.m.-1:10 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, in 010 Smith Hall. Steve Gilbert, president of the Teaching, Learning and Technology Group, has described a low-threshold application (LTA) as a “teaching/learning application of information technology that is reliable, easy to learn, nonintimidating and (incrementally) inexpensive.” The free noontime session will offer faculty an opportunity to examine UD-supported LTAs that can be used to create quiz-style games, annotated video clips and interactive timelines. The session also will look at learning object collections such as Merlot. The sessions, which are held the first Wednesday of each month during the fall and spring semesters, include light lunches of salads and beverages. Space is limited and registration is required for each session.
