Daylight-saving time begins Sunday

1:36 p.m., March 9, 2007--Daylight-saving time begins at 2 a.m., Sunday, March 11, when clocks are turned ahead an hour, effectively moving an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening.

Time reverts to standard time at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday of November.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that, when changing clocks this weekend, individuals should check their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms and change batteries.
