Health fair to offer students spring break tips

10:33 a.m., March 15, 2007--To make spring break more fun, more enjoyable, safer and healthier, Student Health Services is holding a Protect Yourself Health Fair for students, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, outside the Trabant University Center (or inside in case of rain).

Information on avoiding health problems will be provided on such topics as:

  • Hand washing, an easy way to prevent colds, flu, vomiting, diarrhea, eye and skin infections;
  • Information about HPV (human papiloma virus) and the new vaccine, Gardasil;
  • Safe sex (free condoms will be distributed) and preventing sexually transmitted infections; and
  • Avoiding sunburn while getting a great tan, plus information on the long-term effects of too much sun.
