UD employees eligible for statewide DelaWell campaign
11:52 a.m., March 28, 2007--The state of Delaware is introducing DelaWell, a comprehensive wellness program, that will be available free of charge to benefits-eligible employees and pre-65 retirees currently enrolled in a University health plan.

A home mailing to employees will provide more details on this exciting new wellness program, as well as information on the first DelaWell initiative, a health risk assessment (HRA) that will be available April 1-May 31. The first 6,000 University or state employees who complete the assessment will be eligible to receive $75 to acknowledge their participation.

In addition to the confidential health risk assessment, the program also provides:

  • Personalized lifestyle and disease-management coaching programs;
  • Online health resources, such as wellness library, drug database, calculators, recipes and daily health news;
  • Communications, newsletters, incentives;
  • Self-care resources and programs;
  • Health and safety education resources; and
  • Unlimited access to help line.

Beginning April 1, the health risk assessment can be completed online at [https://delaware.online.staywell.com]. To request a paper-based HRA, call 1-800-926-5455.

Information about this wellness program is posted on the state's DelaWell web site: [http://ben.omb.delaware.gov/delawell]. Individuals also may e-mail the DelaWell staff directly at [Employee.Wellness@state.de.us].

A DelaWell representative also will attend UD's annual Benefits Fair in May.
