Bioscience Breakfast slated for March 14

2:21 p.m., March 6, 2007--The next Bioscience Breakfast is set for 7:30-9 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute at UD.

The popular networking series, now in its sixth year, brings together bioscience-focused businesses, for-profits and not-for-profits, academics, entrepreneurs and investors every other month to foster collaboration and growth of Delaware's bioscience community. The series is organized and sponsored by the Delaware Economic Development Office and the Delaware Biotechnology Institute.

The featured speaker will be Shekar Shetty, vice president of research and development, North America, for Air Liquide Research & Technology Center. Founded in 1902, Air Liquide is a global leader in industrial and medical gases and related services. The company supplies oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and other gases and services for such industries as steel, oil refining, chemicals, glass, electronics, health care, food processing, metallurgy, paper and aerospace.

Currently, more than 550 researchers of 25 different nationalities are involved in Air Liquide's R&D efforts, which are underway at eight research centers in France, Germany, the United States and Japan and by "satellite teams" working directly at customers' sites.

A continental breakfast, starting at 7:30 a.m., precedes the program, which begins at 8 a.m.

Registration is required. To register, visit [www.dbi.udel.edu/events/delbiobreakfast.html]. There is no cost to register, and there is no cost to reserve a table.

The Delaware Biotechnology Institute is located on Innovation Way, off Wyoming Road, in Newark.
