Piano sale set Jan. 27-29

1:40 p.m., Jan. 24, 2006--UD’s Department of Music piano sale for alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends will be held by appointment, Friday, Jan. 27, and Saturday, Jan 28, in the Amy du Pont Music Building. Sales to the general public will be held from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 29.

Over the past academic year, the music department has benefited from using new Kawai and Baldwin pianos though an on-going arrangement with the manufacturers and the Wilmington Piano Company. Now these are for sale at reduced prices along with other brand-name pianos and used pianos from Steinway & Sons.

The pianos will be for sale at a fraction of the manufacturer’s retail price. All pianos loaned to UD have been professionally maintained and carry the original factory warranty. The selection includes grand, baby grand, vertical and digital pianos. Financing and delivery are available.

In a letter announcing the sale, James Prodan, professor and chairperson of music, noted, “A successful selling event will help the Department of Music to continue receiving new piano replacements.”

To make an appointment, call (302) 737-1504.
