UD orchestra, Schola Cantorum concert Sunday

5:13 p.m., April 6, 2006--The University Orchestra and Schola Cantorum will perform Felix Mendelssohn's Lobgesang (Hymn of Praise) at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 9, in Mitchell Hall.

The hymn, a celebratory piece that commemorates the 400th anniversary of the invention of the printing press, also will feature faculty soloists Marie Robinson, Nicole Clouser and Gary Seydell.

Brian Stone, assistant professor of music, will conduct the orchestra and Paul Head, associate professor of music, will conduct the cantorum, which will sung in German.

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or the Bob Carpenter Center box offices.
