WebCT exemplary application nominations due April 8

11:18 a.m., April 5, 2005--The WebCT exemplary application contest is accepting nominations until Friday, April 8. Submission forms are due from instructors by Friday, April 15, and winners will be notified on Friday, May 13.

There will be five winners of $500 each to be applied to professional development accounts.

The contest is to identify and reward effective uses of technology to enhance the learning process. Submissions should describe an activity that employs one or more WebCT features or tools. An activity may include an application, exercise, module, technique or other component of a WebCT course with the following criteria:

  • What was the objective in using WebCT in the course?
  • How was WebCT used to accomplish an activity; and
  • What was the intention of the learning experience and was it accomplished?

Judges include: Gabriele Bauer, teaching consultant, Center for Teaching Effectiveness, Chrystalla Mouza, assistant professor of education, Mark A. Serva, assistant professor of accounting and MIS, and Janet deVry, manager, IT User-Services.
