Unique housing opportunities still available

5:13 p.m., March 24, 2005--Students have until Friday, April 15, to change their housing preference and select a unique housing opportunity. These are residence halls that house people with similar interests. Applications are posted online at [www.udel.edu/has]. Use the “Application and Preference Form” online to change housing preferences.

The following unique housing opportunities are still available:

  • Special interest housing in the Ray Street Complex where like-minded students of various disciplines and interests can form a community. For more information, call (302) 831-4311 or send e-mail to [diesner@udel.edu].
  • Study abroad community in the Gilbert/Harrington Complex for students returning from a study abroad program, considering participation in a program or interested in global and international issues. For more information call (302) 831-2023 or send e-mail to [ivetz@udel.edu].
  • Smoke-and-alcohol-free living in Squire and Russell Hall C for students who are willing to make a commitment to maintain a living environment free from tobacco, alcohol and other drugs. For information, visit [www.udel.edu/has].

  • BLUE (Beginning Life in the University Environment) mentors in Rodney and Dickinson introduce new students to the campus. For more information about becoming a BLUE mentor, call (302) 831-3002 or send e-mail to [lulu@udel.edu].
  • Mentors in the new George Read Hall are upper-class students who lived in the Pencader Complex during 2004-05 and will mentor freshmen living in the new George Read Hall. For more information, call (302) 831-1201 or send e-mail to [tweedy@udel.edu].
