Tuition Exchange applications due Oct. 24

4:22 p.m., Aug. 25, 2005--The deadline for Tuition Exchange (TE) applications for the 2006-07 academic year is Monday, Oct. 24.

A lottery of eligible employees who have applied for the available TE slots will be held Friday, Oct. 28, at 12:15 p.m. in Room 261 of the Office of Human Resources, 413 Academy St. It is not necessary to attend, but interested employees may do so.

Tuition Exchange is a program of exchange scholarships offered to University employees for their dependent children. It is a national program involving a consortium of more than 530 colleges and universities.

To participate in the lottery, employees must work full-time and have a minimum of two years of eligible University service as of Oct. 31 in the year in which they submit TE applications. Eligible children are natural or legally adopted children who are financially dependent on their parents in accordance with IRS regulations. Dependent children may apply to one or more participating institutions.

Participating institutions grant the TE scholarship, not Tuition Exchange Inc. This means that submitting an application and subsequent acceptance to a school does not guarantee that a TE scholarship will be awarded.

This program may be used in conjunction with the University of Delaware’s Tuition Remission program and counts toward the maximum requests for that program.

For more TE information, call Human Resources at (302) 831-2171 or visit [www.udel.edu/Benefits/TX.HTML], where applications also are available.
