Cost is 10 Wellness Dollars with no copayment required, and participants will be eligible for door prizes. UDs Employee Wellness Center, School of Nursing, Department of Medical Technology and Ice Skating Science Development Center are cosponsoring the screenings. Health tests being offered include finger-stick cholesterol and diabetes tests, stroke screening, lung function tests, Body Mass Index (BMI), flexibility and stress resiliency. "We're fortunate to have several willing partners in this endeavor, Marianne Carter, director of the wellness center, said. The assistance of the School of Nursing faculty and nursing students expands our staffing ability for this special screening. The Department of Medical Technology is also lending manpower, and pulmonary testing equipment that we don't usually have available is generously being provided by the Ice Skating Science Development Center." Employees can have as many screenings as desired and results will be immediate and confidential. Results will not be kept by sponsors of the screening. Scores will be provided directly and only to participants, who also will be given information on how to modify risk factors. Preregistration is required to ensure adequate supplies and materials.
