Rock for Hurricane Relief set Sept. 30

4:26 p.m., Sept. 28, 2005--UD’s Du Pont Scholars and the University Honors Program are sponsoring “Rock for Hurricane Relief” from 9-11:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, in the Trabant Multipurpose Rooms to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.

Emily Doll, a junior sociology and criminal justice major, and Dan Hulsman, a senior music education major, have been working together on “Rock for Hurricane Relief” for the past two and a half weeks.

“We really just wanted to get the campus interested in helping the hurricane victims out. By having a benefit concert, people can have fun and enjoy themselves while supporting a good cause,” Doll said.

Those scheduled to perform at the event include Amanda Kaletsky, Free Beer, Joel and Tyler and Dan Hulsman. The concert is open to the public and costs $5 at the door, with all proceeds going to American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula for hurricane relief.
