Awards Linda Bucher, associate professor of nursing, received the 2005 Delaware Excellence in Nursing Practice Award for Nursing Education July 14. Lynn Snyder-Mackler, professor of physical therapy, with Michael J. Axe, M.D., and graduate student Wendy J. Hurd, received the best poster award July 16 from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine for their paper, Quadriceps Strength, Laxity and Function after Acute ACL Rupture: Relationship to Dynamic Stability. Linda S. Gottfredson, professor of education, received the Mensa Education and Research Foundation Press Award for her article Schools and the g factor. Michele Kane, assistant director, Office of Residence Life, received a fellowship from the Association for Institutional Research to attend a summer institute on first-year assessment sponsored by the National Resource Center for the first-year experience and students in transition. Kane and complex coordinators Michael Diesner, Licinia Kaliher and Iveta Ziegelbauer attended the conference, July 24-26 in Asheville, N.C.
