Awards

William S. Schenck, scientist, Delaware Geological Survey, received a certificate of recognition for his service to Delaware’s geographic community from the Delaware Geographic Data Committee at the Delaware GIS 2005 conference, April 21, Rehoboth Beach. Schenck has served as coordinator of GIS activities in Delaware since the committee’s creation in 1998.

Lori Pollock, professor of computer and information sciences, along with several other members of the Committee on the Status of Women in Computing Research accepted the 2005 Public Service Award for the CRA-W from the National Science Board, May 25, in Washington, D.C.

M. Dina Giambi, assistant director for library technical services, has been awarded a presidential citation from the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services for “superb leadership” at the American Library Association annual conference, June 26, Chicago.

Service

Janice Selekman, professor of nursing, is a program planning committee member for the 21st annual pediatric nursing conference, “Pediatric Nursing Essentials: Competence, Collaboration, Compassion,” to be held Sept. 16-18 in Philadelphia.

Robin Elliott, director of occupational health and safety, was elected vice chair of the Campus Safety, Health and Environmental Management Association, a division of the National Safety Council, for 2005-06.
