1:57 p.m., Sept. 14, 2005--Opening receptions will be held Friday afternoon, Sept. 16, for "Abstract and All that: Selections from the Paul R. Jones Collection" and for "Quilt Voices," two new University Museum exhibitions. Both exhibitions are on view through Dec. 9.

The “Abstract and All That” reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. in Mechanical Hall, and the “Quilt Voices” reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. in the University Gallery in Old College.

“Abstract and All That” features selected works from The Paul R. Jones Collection of African American Art. The exhibition includes 27 paintings, prints, constructions, mixed media and batik works by 17 artists. Most of the works were produced since 1970.
