Prof. Munson delivers Inaugural Lecture Sept. 14
He is the recipient of grants from the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health and the American Chemical Society. Having served as a consultant with prominent research laboratories and author of several book reviews, his total publications include 117 articles. Most recently an article Munson wrote for the European Journal of Mass Spectrometry was featured in a special issue dedicated to him and his Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry colleague Jean Futrell. Among Munsons honors are the Universitys prestigious Francis Alison Award and Medal of Distinction. He also has won Excellence in Teaching Awards from UD, Mortar Board and Alpha Lambda Delta, the American Chemical Societys Frank H. Field and Joe L. Franklin Award for Outstanding Achievement in Mass Spectrometry and the American Society for Mass Spectrometrys award for Distinguished Contribution in Mass Spectrometry. Munson has been an officer and active member of the American Chemical Society, Phi Beta Kappa and the American Society for Mass Spectrometry. Munson joined the UD faculty as an associate professor in 1967 and has served as director of the University Honors Program.
