Cinco de Mayo fiesta at Blue & Gold Club 1:36 p.m., April 27, 2005--Its fiesta time at the Blue & Gold Club with a Cinco de Mayo celebration of the Battle of Puebla, where the Mexicans defeated the French army in 1862. The dinner--held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, May 5--costs $18.95 for adults and $9.95 for children 5-11. When it comes to Mexican food, some like it hot; some like it less spicy; and the Blue & Gold caters to both. The menu includes assorted chips and salsas, chicken tortilla soup, seasonal mixed greens with cilantro vinaigrette, Mexican-style chick pea salad, a carne asada station, mole rojo (chicken with red chili sauce), grouper a la Vera Cruz, cheese quesadillas, Mexican rice, chili green beans, raspberry churros, buttermilk chocolate cake with coconut pecan marmalade, and fried ice cream.
