Laughing at Life workshop set May 4 4:06 p.m., April 21, 2005--Laughing at Life, a lunchtime workshop on using humor to relieve stress, is set for 12:05-12:55 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center. Sponsored by UDs Employee Wellness Center, the workshop will be led by Bob Czimbal, a nationally recognized humorist who will cover the basics in letting go of a good belly laugh in the face of mounting pressure. Laughter can be powerful emotional medicine. According to the National Wellness Institute, laughter has been shown to lift ailing spirits, foster instant relaxation, reduce stress and burn-out, and improve health and healing by bolstering the immune system. "We enjoy offering this type of entertaining and educational program, Marianne Carter, director of the Employee Wellness Center, said. It's a fun way to inform employees that taking life too seriously can be unhealthy." Cost of the workshop is 10 Wellness Dollars, and early registration is encouraged.
