Tsunamis topic of prof’s talk

5:06 p.m., May 18, 2005--James Kirby, Edward C. Davis Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering with a joint appointment in the College of Marine Studies, will speak on “Hydrodynamics of Tsunami Waves” at the annual spring meeting of the Delaware Academy of Science (DAS).

The meeting, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 7-9:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, at the Newark Senior Center, 300 White Chapel Drive. Refreshments will be served.

In addition, DAS achievement awards will be given to high school and middle school winners in the Delaware Science Olympiad and to UD geology majors.

The meeting is sponsored by DAS, the geology department and College of Marine Studies.
