Student summer jobs listed online

4:09 p.m., May 24, 2005--When Chong Xie needed a microscopist to work at Batta Laboratories in Newark this summer, he advertised in only one place---UD’s MBNA Career Services Center web site.

“Every summer we’ve gotten a very good person from among the students at UD, so we rely on the UD web site,’’ Chong said.

Students who still don’t have summer jobs will find dozens of openings posted at the center’s web site at [www.udel.edu/CSC/summerjobs.html].

There are listings for fitness coaches, naturalists, waitresses, a science tutor, horticulture teachers, case managers and camp counselors, as well as for more technical positions like the microscopist’s opening Chong posted.

Each week a new set of jobs is posted, according to Marianne Green, the center’s assistant director.
