Homecoming Oct. 7-9--Hold those dates

2:41 p.m., Aug. 5, 2005--It’s never too early to think about Blue Hen touchdowns and tailgate reunions with old classmates. Homecoming weekend, set Oct. 7-9, promises those pleasures and much more.

To please all tastes and welcome reunion classes, several other events have been scheduled, and more will be added as the weekend approaches. The following is a run-down of confirmed events.

Ice Hockey, UD vs. West Chester University--7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7, Fred Rust Ice Arena. Admission is $3 for UD students and children 12 and under, and $6 for adults. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Bob Carpenter Center box office or at the door on the night of the game. For more information, call (302) 831-4367.

Class of 1955 events—Fiftieth Reunion festivities begin Friday, Oct. 7 with an alumni reception (time and location yet to be determined). Saturday, Oct. 8, a president’s pregame brunch will give honored classmates a chance to catch up and share memories over a sumptuous meal. For later in the day, two complimentary tickets will be provided for the UD versus Hofstra University football game to ensure good seats with clear views of the action. A 50th Reunion Dinner, hosted by President and Mrs. David P. Roselle, will cap the day. For more information, call (302) 831-2341.

Class of 1960 events--After the football game, members of the Class of 1960 are invited to an honorary dinner celebration at Clayton Hall. For more information, call (302) 831-2341.

The Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics will host an Awards of Excellence Ceremony and Brunch, on Saturday, Oct. 8, in the Tyler Atrium of Alfred Lerner Hall. The awards ceremony is at 9:30 a.m., and the brunch will run from 10-11 a.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (302) 831-2551.
