Music department opening gala set Sept. 13 4:48 p.m., Sept. 8, 2005--The University of Delaware Department of Music presents its 16th annual Opening Gala Concert at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building. The program will feature performances by faculty musicians of Michael Torkes The Telephone Book, Carl Nielsens Tagen Letter, Paul Baslers Amazing Grace, variations on Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen from Mozarts Magic Flute, Aaron Coplands Old American Songs, Carlisle Floyds Aint it a Pretty Night from Susannah, Rossinis Overture to Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Maximo Diego Pujols Dos Aires Candombero, along with the UD Faculty Jazz performing various jazz standards. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices.
