Music department opening gala set Sept. 13

4:48 p.m., Sept. 8, 2005--The University of Delaware Department of Music presents its 16th annual Opening Gala Concert at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.

The program will feature performances by faculty musicians of Michael Torke’s The Telephone Book, Carl Nielsen’s Tagen Letter, Paul Basler’s Amazing Grace, variations on “Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen” from Mozart’s Magic Flute, Aaron Copland’s Old American Songs, Carlisle Floyd’s Ain’t it a Pretty Night from Susannah, Rossini’s Overture to Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Maximo Diego Pujol’s Dos Aires Candombero, along with the UD Faculty Jazz performing various jazz standards.

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices.
