UD freshman featured on national TV tonight

Freshman Greg Sweeney
9:52 a.m., Oct. 14, 2005--Greg Sweeney, of Wilmington, a University of Delaware freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences will be profiled as the Person of the Week on ABC News’ World News Tonight at 6:50 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14.

Sweeney who recently won two prestigious national awards for community service for founding Cub Scout Pack 506, the first scout pack on the East Coast exclusively for homeless boys, was featured on UDaily Oct. 4.

Sweeney is one of only five young adults chosen nationwide to receive a 2005 National Caring Award and scholarship from the Caring Institute and one of 10 to receive a $5,000 Yoshiyama Award for Exemplary Service to the Community from the Hitachi Foundation.
