Employee flu shots offered Oct. 25, 26

9:20 a.m., Oct. 4, 2005--Employee flu shots will be offered from 1-3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, and from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26, at UD’s Student Health Service in Laurel Hall.

Flu shots are available to current UD employees only.

High-risk individuals are encouraged to sign up. Those who are considered at higher risk for the flu are over 50, work in a health-care setting, have chronic heart or lung disease (including asthma) or need regular medical follow-up for other chronic illnesses such as diabetes.

Flu shots should not be scheduled by those who have had Guillain-Barre Syndrome or are allergic to eggs, thimerosal or latex.

Allow 25-30 minutes per appointment because a 20-minute wait is required after injection.

The cost for a flu shot is $20 and only cash, check or charge will be accepted.

To schedule an appointment, visit [www.udel.edu/wellness].
