End-of-life ethics conference set April 20 3:17 p.m., April 11, 2005--A one-day conference, Living with Grief: Ethical Dilemmas at the End of Life, is set for Wednesday, April 20. Cosponsored by UDs College of Health and Nursing Sciences, Division of Special Programs, Delaware Hospice and the Delaware End-of-Life Coalition, the event will be programmed by John Goodill, director of Pain Management and the Palliative Care Program at Christiana Care Health System, and will include a keynote address by Arthur Caplan, head of the Department of Medical Ethics and director of the Center for Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania. Professionals from several health disciplines will round out the panel and explore different end-of-life issues. The morning session will feature a live webcast from WHYY-TV in Philadelphia, and the afternoon session will be a live satellite-beamed teleconference, moderated by Cokie Roberts, ABC News political commentator and NPR senior news analyst. A discussion by Madeline Lambrecht, director of UDs Division of Special Programs, and immediate past president of the Association for Death Education and Counseling, will cap the conference.
