2 new dining options set for fall

2:32 p.m., May 20, 2005--In response to an extensive Market Match survey of what benefits students want, Dining Services is offering students more options for dining plans for 2005-06.

The survey indicated that students want more flexibility, guest passes for dining halls and additional points in dining plans.

On-campus students will have two “Plus” plans to choose from, in addition to the traditional 15 options. They are:

  • The “5 Plus” plan, which consists of five meals per week, with $465 in points per semester (an increase of $150 in points from the traditional five-meals-per-week plan) and five guest passes; and
  • The “10 Plus” plan, which consists of 10 meals per week with $365 in points per semester (an increase of $150 in points over the traditional ten-meal-per-week plan) and five guest passes.

Each “Plus” plan costs $1,600 per semester, while traditional plans cost $1,450 per semester. Guest passes may be used to bring a guest into a dining hall for an all-you-care-to-eat meal.

Students living off-campus or in Christiana Towers may purchase three different types of dining plans in addition to the “Plus” plans or traditional plans. They are:

  • The 50 Block Meals plan, which allows students to eat in any of the four all-you-care-to-eat dining halls 50 times during the semester for $347 per semester;
  • The 3 Meals Per Week plan, which allows students to eat any three meals offered each week of the semester in any of the four dining halls for $315 per semester; and
  • The Points plans, beginning at $150, which can be used to eat at any Dining Services location.

Any of these plans may be purchased beginning Aug. 1, using the online Dining Choose or Change form on the Dining Services web site at [www.udel.edu/dining].

For more information, students or parents may contact Dining Services at (302) 831-6761 or [DiningServices@udel.edu].
