Dress Makes the Woman gala June 16 The event will include presentations on the work of emerging fashion designers at UD, DCCAs current visual residency project, participants from the Young Survivors in Action Program of the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and portraits of Delaware breast cancer survivors. Proceeds from the gala will benefit DCCAs outreach programs, with a portion being donated to the Young Survivors in Action program of the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and the nonprofit organization Shop Well with You. The event also honors National Cancer Survivors Day, which was celebrated June 5. The Dress Makes the Woman exhibition examines identity and body image from a female perspective and investigates the meaning of dress and its social, cultural and psychological implications. Tickets for the gala, "The Dress Makes the Woman...The Woman Makes the Dress," are $20 for students, $25 for DCCA members and $30 for others. For tickets, call (302) 656-6466.
