Oct. 16 orchestra concert features faculty cellist
4:23 p.m., Oct. 13, 2005--UDs first-ever, full-time professor of cello, Lawrence Stomberg, joins forces with UD's first full-time orchestra director, Brian Stone, and the UD Symphony Orchestra for a concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 16, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.
Opening the concert will be Beethoven's heroic Overture to Goethe's play, "Egmont" and the sentimental and nostalgic Suite from Aaron Copland's only full-length opera, The Tender Land.
Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3, students. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices.
