New menu items from catering service 8:49 a.m., Aug. 31, 2005--This summer UDs catering service has revised its menus with some innovative, popular new items suitable for any occasion, available beginning Thursday, Sept. 1. For receptions, catering offers assorted bite-sized pizzas for $1.10 each, classic deviled eggs for $.95 each and curried deviled eggs with salmon caviar for $1.10 each. By popular demand, catering now offers two versions of antipasto trays. The traditional antipasto tray for $70 features cappicola, Genoa salami, pepperoni, roasted red peppers, black olives, romaine, fresh mozzarella, pepperoncini and cherry tomatoes. The Greek platter for $53.45 contains marinated vegetables, olives, hummus, pita triangles, feta and mozzarella. New beverage offerings include raspberry lemonade for $14.50 a gallon and Powerade (fruit punch, lemon/lime, mountain blast or orange) for $1.45 each. Assorted chewy cookies or carrot cake are now available for buffets, and for the Wrap It Up buffet, turkey and provolone with cranberry mayo has been added to the menu. October specials include maple-glazed apple tarts for $11.45 per dozen and pumpkin cookies with cream-cheese icing for $8.85 a dozen. Italian mushrooms with Italian seasonings and cheese for $1.35 each may be ordered for receptions, and broccoli salad with raisins and crumbled bacon is available for buffets.
