Campus book drive under way

3:23 p.m., Oct. 7, 2005--UD’s MBNA Career Services Center, in partnership with Success Won’t Wait Inc., is spearheading a book drive during October, culminating with Make a Difference Day on Oct. 22. The books that are collected will be donated to hospitals, schools, doctors’ offices, assisted-living facilities and youth centers.

Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to drop off used books at the designated book drops, near the information desks, in either the Perkins Student Center, Trabant University Center or at the Career Services Center.

Book boxes will be clearly marked. Kids’ books, classics, teen favorites, paperback, hardbacks are all welcome. No textbooks, magazines or encyclopedias please.

Success Won’t Wait is the brainchild of UD alum Susan McNeill and sophomore Vincenza Carrieri-Russo, with help from her brother, senior Italo Carrieri-Russo, and other family members. Since 2002, Success Won’t Wait has collected and donated more than 22,000 books.
