Campus blood drive slated for Tuesday
This year, another potential blood-supply crisis exists as victims in the Gulf Coast area struggle to recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. While the Blood Bank of Delmarva has not yet been asked to send any blood to the areas damaged by Hurricane Katrina, they are on stand-by. If asked, Blood Bank of Delmarva will need to have an adequate supply for both local hospitals and hurricane victims. To aid hurricane victims and meet local emergency blood needs, members of the UD community are asked to participate in the first blood drive of the academic year, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center. Sigma Chi fraternity and Alpha Phi sorority are sponsoring the drive. For more information, call (302) 737-8405, ext. 796, or e-mail [jdkell@udel.edu] or [ihanna@udel.edu].
