Music of Count Basie showcased April 8
1:59 p.m., April 5, 2005--The big band music of the legendary Count Basie will be featured in a concert by UDs Jazz Ensemble I at 8 p.m., Friday, April 8, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.
The program will showcase the talents of Frank Foster, special guest director from the Count Basie Band. A tenor saxophonist, composer and arranger, Foster has been associated with the Count Basie Orchestra off and on since 1953.
Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices. This event is cosponsored by UDs Paul R. Jones Initiative.
