Battle of the bands tonight in The Scrounge

11:36 a.m., Oct. 13, 2005--Fancy riffs and clever lyrics will be up for grabs tonight, Thursday, Oct. 13, as eight local bands battle it out for first, second and third place in SCPAB’s Battle of the Bands event, set for 8:30 p.m. in The Scrounge in the Perkins Student Center.

Showcasing the popular groups Drake, Chowderfoot, Bellefonte, The Red Oranges, Flash Grenade, Chase Her and Lolita Nation, as well as singer-songwriter Chris D’Esposito, the musical extravaganza will feature original tunes and good-natured upstaging antics.

The first-place winner will open for Omnisoul on Friday, Oct. 14, in Mitchell Hall. The second- and third-place winners will play at SCPAB’s local band night on Thursday, Nov. 17, at The Scrounge.

The free, SCPAB-sponsored event is open to the public. For more information, call (302) 831-1403.
