Back pain prevention talk set Oct. 24

1:19 p.m., Sept. 26, 2005--Low-back pain is the second most common reason that patients in the United States seek treatment from primary care doctors. Those who have dealt with back pain know it can be all-consuming and disabling.

UD’s Employee Wellness Center will present “Preventing Lower Back Pain” as a noontime lecture from 12:10-12:50 p.m., Monday, Oct. 24, in 103 Gore Hall.

Susan Hall, chairperson of the Department of Health, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences, will share tips on preventing and relieving symptoms of this common condition.

Cost is 10 Wellness Dollars. Space is limited, and preregistration is required. All attendees will be entered into a drawing to win lunch for two at Vita Nova. Employees can register online at [www.udel.edu/wellness] or by calling (302) 831-8388.
