Concerto/Aria winners in concert April 10

12:02 p.m., April 7, 2005--UD’s Department of Music presents the winners of its 2005 Concerto/Aria competition at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 10, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.

The concert will feature the following UD students: marimbist Colin Bunnell performing Concerto para Marimba by Ney Rosauro; trumpeter Michael Marmarou performing Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra by Alexander Arutunian; soprano Amanda McDonald performing “Der Holle Rache” from Die Zauberfl–te by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “La Canzonna di Doretta” from La Rondine by Giacomo Puccini and “Let the Bright Seraphim” from Samson by George Fredric Handel; timpanist Paul Robertson performing movements from Hermes: Concerto for Timpani and Strings by Kenneth LaFave; and violinist Christina von Duyke performing a movement from Concerto for Violin and Orchestra by Samuel Barber.

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices.
