UD to add AmEx as form of payment

1:56 p.m., June 21, 2005--On Friday, July 1, American Express will join the ranks of acceptable payment modes everywhere on campus, including the Web, that credit cards are accepted.

Made possible by a new partnership between MBNA America and American Express, the addition will enable American Express customers to use their cards for several purchases and services across campus, including online admission application and deposits, tuition for summer classes, admission to UD’s Outdoor Pool, meals at Vita Nova and all Dining Services venues, physical therapy at UD’s clinic, care at Student Health Services, events organized by Conference Services, tickets sold through UD box offices, private classes offered through the Department of Music, the English Language Institute and the Academy of Lifelong Learning.

According to Jacqueline Caleb, manager of UD’s Cashier’s Office, the new payment alternative will expand options for consumers who prefer to pay with American Express. “Anywhere on campus that accepts credit cards will accept American Express,” she said. “The change will begin July 1, giving our customers one more payment option.”
