Lecture on forensics set May 5

3:14 p.m., April 29, 2004--Douglas Ubelaker, a leading forensic anthropologist, will explore the practical uses of forensics in a lecture titled “Skeletons Testify: the Science of Forensic Anthropology,” set for 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 5, in 104 Gore Hall.

A veteran of the Smithsonian Institute and a frequent consultant to the FBI, Ubelaker has worked extensively in bone forensics, and has helped solve many cases throughout his career. Besides winning several honors for his work, Ubelaker also has published a range papers and books on forensics, including “Bones: A Forensic Detective’s Casebook.”

The free public lecture is sponsored by the UD chapter of Sigma Xi, the national scientific research society.
