Research on women focus of April 3 conference

2:57 p.m., March 31, 2004--The Geis Student Research on Women Conference, a program designed to provide recognition of student excellence in research, will begin at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, April 3, in 125/126 Alfred Lerner Hall with refreshments and registration and end with closing remarks and announcement of awards at 4:50 p.m.

The conference is open to graduate and undergraduate students of the 12 member institutions of the Greater Philadelphia Women’s Studies Consortium, including UD.

Judith Gibson, assistant vice president for affirmative action and multicultural programs, will welcome the group, and the closing remarks will be made by Rickie Sanders of Temple University, who is coordinator of the consortium.

Papers will be presented on social issues and historical and literary humanities. Temple University student films will be screened, with Suzanne Cherrin, assistant professor of women’s studies, serving as moderator. The complete conference schedule is posted online at [www.udel.edu/OWA/geis.htm]
