March of Dimes Walk America slated for April 27

3:15 p.m., April 3, 2003--Be a hero for the tiniest babies by joining the UD Walk America team on Sunday, April 27, to raise money for the March of Dimes. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and walkers step off at 10 a.m. at the Delaware Field House.

Through education, research, community programs and advocacy, the March of Dimes is committed to preventing birth defects and infant mortality. More than $1 billion has been raised during Walk America’s 33-year history.

Helping to make this year’s six-mile walk a fun family event will be snacks along the way, as well as entertainment, lunch and UD student volunteer organizations providing activities for children at the end of the Walk America route.

Cheering the walkers on will be YoUDee, Baby Blue, the UD cheerleaders and WSTW radio personalities. The first 50 members of the UD community who register with $25 or more in pledges get free T-shirts.
