Paying for college today can seem impossible.
But thanks to the University of Delaware’s Associate in Arts Program (AAP) and SEED (Student Excellence Equals Degree) Scholarships funded by the State of Delaware, eligible Delawareans can start their education and earn a degree tuition-free.
With smaller classes and convenient locations throughout the state, students in UD’s Associate in Arts Program get the individual attention they need to transition (not transfer) to main campus after 2 or 3 years.

FLEXIBLE
With convenient class locations in Georgetown, Lewes, Dover and Wilmington, Associate in Arts Program students can stay close to home. Many students continue with family responsibilities or part-time jobs. With smaller classes and more individual attention, students are ready to transition to a 4 year UD program after 2 or 3 years.
FIRST RATE
The AAP offers a UD education of the highest quality with classes taught exclusively by UD professors. Classes simultaneously fulfill the requirements for an associate degree and the core requirements for majors leading to the bachelor’s degree at UD. After completing the AAP, students can transition - not transfer - to main campus to complete their bachelor's degree.
Graduating to Greatness
More than 60 percent of AAP students earn their associate degree within three years, far above national averages. Then, nearly all of them transition — they don't transfer because they're already UD students — to the main campus in Newark, where 78 percent earn their bachelor's degrees. Over the past decade, more than 2,000 Delawareans have earned bachelor's degrees after starting in AAP.
RONY BALTAZAR-LOPEZ
completed the AAP in 1.5 years, and has since received degrees in political science and public administration. He is currently the Director of Policy and Communications at DE Dept. of State.
AMANDA ROSE
who entered UD through the Associate in Arts Program and graduated from UD in 2020, now teaches at her high school alma mater, Cape Henlopen in Lewes, Delaware.
BRANDON PELLEGRINI
served as a cadet dispatcher and cadet supervisor with the UD Police Department, and he also served as a park patrol officer with the Delaware Natural Resources Police.
