Application Instructions (Deadline: October 1, 2025, for Fall 2026 start)

DICAS application

The program is using the Dietetics Inclusive Centralized Application Service, DICAS, which may be accessed at https://dicas.cas.myliaison.com/applicant-ux/#/login, email DICASinfo@DICAS.org. The online application must be completed for our program by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on October 1, 2025.

  • Fee: The fee to use DICAS is $50 for the first application submitted and $25 for each additional application.
  • References: When completing the application form, you must include the name and email address for each of your three references. This will trigger an email message requesting the completion of an online reference form through DICAS. We recommend obtaining references from two faculty members and 1 work or volunteer supervisor. However, extensive work experience may warrant submission of two work references and one faculty reference. Please give careful consideration to the people you ask to write your recommendations. To give your application the best possible chance in a competitive environment, it is important that the people who furnish your references know you and can attest to your abilities and accomplishments.
  • Personal Statement: The University of Delaware requires submission of a personal statement not exceeding 1000 words. Questions to be addressed in the personal statement include:
    • Why do you want to enter the dietetics profession?
    • Discuss experiences that have helped you prepare for your career.
    • What are your short- and long-term goals?
    • What are your strengths and weaknesses or areas needing improvement?
    • What other information do you consider important for the selection decision?
  • Application Checklist: The application checklist can be scanned in and uploaded as supplemental materials as part of the DICAS application, or emailed directly to the program director, Beth Schwenk at bschwenk@udel.edu. Supplemental materials are due at the time of application.

Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended should be sent to: DICAS-Transcript Department, P.O. Box 9118, Watertown, MA 02472

University of Delaware Graduate Application

In addition to submitting the DICAS application, all applicants will need to submit a University of Delaware Graduate Application for the Nutrition and Dietetics/Dietetics Internship (MS/DI) and pay the application fee of $35.00 (credit cards or checks accepted). Within a few days, after submitting your DICAS application, you will automatically receive an email from our Graduate College with the link to the Graduate Application.
